Helen Keen – Flute

Helen studied languages at Cambridge University before deciding to make music her career after being awarded a scholarship to Guildhall School of Music and Drama. As well as being a founder-member of Endymion, she is currently Principal Piccolo with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. She plays guest principal flute with this orchestra, as well as with the London Mozart Players, Orchestra of St. John’s and New London Orchestra. Helen also appears regularly with London Sinfonietta, London Winds and the Nash Ensemble.

In addition to her symphony and chamber appearances, Helen can be heard playing flute, piccolo, alto and bass flute and a range of ethnic instruments on many film scores, most recently Over the Hedge, The Wind That Shakes the Barley, Volver and the James Bond film Casino Royale.
